Message My stock 1996 2+2 was running great until the alternator went out. As soon as the car turned off I pulled over to the side of the road and looked at the alternator. As of then it had no oil on it. After getting my Z towed to my house the following day I drove it 1/2 a mile to a garage so I could replace the alternator, by the time I got there the alternator had a couple drops of oil on the front.

After I pulled the alternator I felt around the top of the timing cover and the bottom of the timing cover (around the crank) and felt not oil. I replaced the alternator and ran the Z again, driving it 2 miles to an auto store, figuring the leak was really small and could be fixed with some stop leak. Once again there were only a few drops of oil. Drove the car another 2 miles back home, still just a few drops. I let it sit for an hour then drove it 5 miles down the road to walmart, by the time I got there I had a trail of oil behind the car and the alternator, along with everything on the passengers side of my Z, was completely coated in oil.

Any idea where this leak would be coming from? All the front seals (crank, 4x cam) were replaced about 5 months ago. If those were installed incorrectly I feel like they would have showed problems before now. When the oil was just dripping it was falling straight onto the front face of the alternator. I will be pulling apart everything next weekend when I have time, any ideas where I'm leaking from? Thanks in advance
